Missed being able to play Age of Empires on the move?  Well, Microsoft Studios is keen to fill that RTS hole in your daily commute with the announcement of Age of Empires: World Domination for iOS, Android and Windows Phone for release sometime this summer.

Allowing players to strap themselves into the dusty historical shoes of such figures as King Arthur, Joan of Arc and Atillla The Hun to name just a few, Age of Empires: World Domination lets players wage RTS-flavoured war on their enemies and appears to take its self a little less seriously than its po-faced predecessors, with massive, colorful battlefields and highly detailed and stylized units starching the shit out of each other.

To make the game workable for mobile platforms, the developer is promising an intuitive touchscreen UI which will provide players with easy access to their units, resources and all the requisite commands needed to wage war on their foes.

Online multiplayer is promised for the game, but like so many other aspects of the game which remain shrouded in mystery (just how deep is the base building element for instance?), we simply don’t know much about what it entails at the moment.

Until more details are forthcoming, why don’t you take a look at the announcement trailer for the game below.
