That’s it, the three biggest guesses on who will be added to the Smash roster have now all been announced. Personal Miis, Lady Palutena, and now the original ghost buster, Pac-Man enters the fray.

Many claimed it was inevitable as soon as Nintendo announced that Bandai Namco was helping to make the game, and now all of those people can go all NEENER-NEENER I TOLD YOU SO on their Nintendo-purist friends who scoffed at the very idea. Spoiler alert: I was in the latter group.

I’ve never really been a fan of the 3D Pac-Man model, and only ever enjoyed the classic arcade version of the hungry yellow ball. But like George Washington, I cannot tell a lie. And after seeing Pac-Man’s announcement video (which you can and should absolutely check out below), I can honestly I’m pretty pumped to give him a go. Just tell me we’ll have Ms. Pac-Man as an alternate costume, like the male and female Wii Fit Trainers, and I’ll be even more satisfied. I always did have a soft spot for Ms. Pac-Man.

Plus, the inevitable Nintendo vs SEGA vs Capcom vs Bamco battle that everyone who buys this game will experience is just too awesome to turn your nose up at.

P.S. Check out the Mr. Game and Watch teaser at the end. That’s TOTALLY a confirmation for him too.
