At their E3 media briefing, Sony officially announced Entwined, the first game from its newly formed indie studio Pixel Opus.

The game is out now on PlayStation 4, while the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions will follow soon.  I love it when folks do that; announce a game and then immediately release it; makes me all warm and fuzzy

A Rez-styled game about two souls who share an unrequited love, Entwined tasks the players with controlling both of these souls at once with an analogue stick assigned to each.  Every level is conceived as a ‘lifetime’ and the goal is to gradually get the souls closer and closer together over the course of the game.  Once achieved, the two souls coalesce into a bad-ass looking dragon.

Who said love wasn’t cool?

Available right now for PlayStation 4 on the PlayStation Store, Entwined will set you back $9.99 (£6.49) and will snag players cross-buy copies of the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of the game.
