Bandai Namco have announced Tekken 7 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms at this year’s EVO 2014 fighting tournament.

Leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 4, long-time series director Katsuhiro Harada has said that the move to a new engine allows the developer to concentrate more on the gameplay elements of this newest Tekken title. Additionally, the shift to such a capable engine also allows Harada and his team to port the game to a wide variety of formats with a high level of graphical fidelity.

Currently, Tekken 7 is due for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

No other details were announced at the time, but more information is promised to be released at the annual San Diego Comic-Con later this month. Harada is also hard at work on the long-awaited Tekken X Street Fighter and one other, unannounced title, too.

Until we get more deets, you can catch the debut teaser for Tekken 7 below.
