Today is a good day to be a Saint, as Volition and Deep Silver have announced two exciting additions to the Saints Row family; Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is a Game-of-the-Year (Game of the Century?)-style package, containing the base game in its entirety, along with all released DLC packs INCLUDING the other piece of news: new standalone adventure Gat Out of Hell. Even better, Re-Elected will have that next-gen polish, releasing on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Gat Out of Hell sends titular protagonist Johnny Gat and fellow Saint Kinzie Kensington into the depths of hell to square off against many demonic legions, historical figures, and the ruler of the fiery pits himself, Satan. The title will feature two-player online co-op and will be available to purchase in the Re-Elected package as stated before, or on its own for $20, launching January 27, 2015. Haven’t made the jump to next-gen yet? No sweat. You can also purchase Gat Out of Hell for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, as well as PC.

It should be duly noted that Gat Out of Hell, much like Far Cry 3‘s stellar add-on Blood Dragon, is completely standalone and does not require the base game of Saints Row IV to enjoy. Kudos, Volition.

The Saints Row version of Hell is estimated to be around half the size of Saints Row IV’s Steel Port, and will feature many new weapons based on the seven deadly sins. For instance, the Arm Chairmageddon represents sloth: it’s a recliner with a machine gun/rocket launcher attached to it, and it is glorious.

Even if your interest in the series is a mere passing fancy, it would be a great injustice to pass this up when it releases early next year. At a mere twenty bucks, you’re sure to get your money’s worth. Oh, and if they don’t publicly release the Gat Out of Hell poster, they’re doing it wrong. It is GLORIOUS.
