Uuuupupupu~ If you’ve made it it far enough in the very excellent Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, you may have noticed an a little Easter Egg that alluded to the upcoming Danganronpa title Danganronpa: Another Episode. Protagonist Hajime Hinata, after seeing the advertisement, states that he will “definitely buy this” when it’s available. So will we, Hajime. So will we.

Possible spoilers below.

The spin-off title, which seems to ascribe elements of a third-person action game alongside visual novel storytelling, is releasing later this month in Japan, but there is no word if or when the game will come to North America.

Judging from the fact that it’s a spin-off title, a lot of events from this game will not subscribe to the canon endings of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc or Goodbye Despair, imaginably, as we see surprise appearances from Toko Fukawa (most prominently as Genocide Jill), Makoto Naegi, Byakuya Togami, and even Nagito Komaeda. It also seems we’re going to meet family members from several of the previous casts, as someone who looks startlingly like a male version of Aoi Asahina appears. On top of that, we have original characters and we are setting sail for a brand new Danganronpa title.

Oh, and obviously Monokuma is the dastardly villain contained within. Because Monokuma.

Fingers crossed that what may be a super exciting entry in the Danganronpa series makes it way outside of Japan and to PlayStation Vita handhelds everywhere.
