In what could have been an absolutely explosive and monumental announcement, it was revealed at the PlayStation Experience over the weekend that Final Fantasy VII will be hitting the PlayStation 4 in early 2015.

Unfortunately, it is not the widely-speculated, oft wished for complete remaster that many would prefer, but instead just another port to another console featuring all the same polygons we’re used to from the 1997 PSOne hit. Underwhelming is a severe understatement, but hey, it’s still nice to know the current generation of gamers will have a chance to see what it was all about.


If you’re interested in playing a different kind of remake of Final Fantasy VII, remember that fans have completely recreated the game in Little Big Planet 2, and that is definitely worth a look.
