The Legend of Zelda‘s producer, Eiji Aonuma, took to the Miiverse today to bring an update on The Legend of Zelda for Wii U. Unfortunately it’s not the kind of update one hopes for. It is, however, being incredibly well received from fans.
In the video, which can be viewed below, Aonuma discusses how throughout production of the game, the team has discovered new possibilities and new ideas to make the upcoming adventure game better than even their own original expectations. As such, the estimated “sometime in 2015″ release window given at last year’s E3 is no longer gospel. He did not explicitly state that the game won’t come out this year, but odds area high that we can expect it to be bumped until 2016.
In addition to the video announcement, Aonuma also confirmed on Miiverse that The Legend of Zelda for Wii U will not be shown at E3 this year, so the team may instead focus on progressing work on the title.
The last update we received was in December, when Aonuma sat with Shigeru Miyamoto to bring us a first look at the gameplay. When we know more, you’ll know more.
