Even with StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void’s beta test well underway, Blizz isn’t turning down the hype machine. They’ve announced at the PC Gaming Show at E3 that the expansion will be getting 3 prologue missions, bridging the gap between it and Heart of the Swarm. While the prologue will be part of the game, thus available to all LotV players, those who pre-purchase the expansion will get early access to the prologue missions. Blizzard will be adding the prologue missions to the LotV beta in July. They’ve also released the cinematic trailer for the expansion, which is a lot less substantial from the story or “epicness” point of view in relation to the other cinematic works of the publisher, but is no less visually stunning. Maybe the awkward lack of narration can be attributed to the Protoss’ lack of a mouth?

Legacy of the Void will focus on the Protoss race, with Artanis at the helm as the mortal races of the Koprulu sector fight to survive the return of the godlike Xel’Naga.
