This years official FIFA game has women in it. This is, of course, a good thing. It need not be explained, but as GamesBeat saw fit to ask, EA CEO Andrew Wilson took time off from his
villainous schedule to answer:
As we start looking at the amount of players in our FIFA world who are girls and women, as we look at the amount of girls playing soccer—particularly in this country, by the way. There are more girls playing soccer than there are guys. We had this huge audience playing our game who didn’t feel they were represented inside the game. We went after that. We’ll continue to do that.
Wilson goes on to say that despite Peter Moore’s dismay at an all too typical online backlash, by and large, the reaction to this years big additon is very positive.
Good on you, EA. Keep up the good work.
